Sorry folks (not that anyone is reading this blog …. yet) but I have been busy with work. So tonight (this morning) I’ll be trying to catch up.
I think that Bernie Sanders is a GREAT Candidate but ….
Bernie Sanders has not courted “the black vote” which is a very significant portion of the democratic party demographic. (Democratic Caucasians are something like 40%, if that).
The Clintons have courted African American leadership and communities for more than 30 years.
Therefore … I think Hillary Clinton does VERY WELL in Southern States.
I’m not sure how they both do with the Hispanic Democratic communities especially in the southwestern states (AZ, NM, TX, CO, NV etc) AND California
I know the democratic party does well in California, I don’t know who carries California, Hillary or Bernie?
Younger voters didn’t really show up for Bernie in Iowa, if that trend repeats then Bernie is in trouble with THAT demographic as well.
As far as people thinking that Bernie Sanders couldn’t get anything done if he were to get the Democratic Nomination AND win the Presidential election, he could use existing regulations to crack down on banks that are “too big to fail” and he wouldn’t even need congress to do so.
I hope Bernie wins, but I think it’s a long shot for him. If Hillary wins I’ll have to vote for her over any Republican!
Speaking of Republicans … I think Ted Cruz has a real shot because in his party (the GOP) he will pick up the Southern White Republican “Evangelical” vote, which may give Cruz the wind he needs for him to get the GOP nomination over Trump. However …. will he get “birtherized” ?
The birther thing… remember how they said Obama was actually born in Kenya or Indonesia? Well it turns out LOL that he was ACTUALLY born in the US State of Hawaii. Meanwhile Ted Cruz was actually BORN in CANADA! (But he is an American citizen by virtue of his American Mother etc) I’m not sure how “Natural Born Citizen” includes being born of a foreign father (Cuban Father) and an American mother but being actually Born in Canada, I’m not sure how THAT works out or gets interpreted or even if it will really be challenged?
I do know that evangelical white republicans will come out in droves to vote for Ted Cruz. So if Dems don’t show up on election day … we could have a President Cruz.
I think Hillary is going to get the Democratic nomination though and then I think Hillary will thoroughly trounce Cruz or anyone else the GOP coughs up.
That’s all I can think of for right now. We’ll see how things work out. Stay tuned.
