After much consideration, a time out and some pondering, some video watching of various folks and several pod-cast episodes of various pod-casters, I have decided to do some STRATEGIC VOTING.
What do I mean by this?
Well, this has to be tailored to you and me, depending on the kind of state or county or district we live in.
I think if you are in a “blue state, county, city or district” you can more afford to go Green or any third party of your choice, that is, this is coming from a person (me) who is of the democratic persuasion.
If you are are a Republican this article isn’t for you, you already have your rebelliousness in progress, supposedly.
So, as for me, I am opposed to most, if not all Republican policies, I tend to vote Democratic most of the time.
I’ve heard the voices from Blue Gal & Driftglass, Rachel Maddow & NorMAN GoldMAN, and I don’t want to fight or attack that side, and it *is* a side, within the Democratic side.
I have also heard the voices, opinions of Jamarl Thomas and Kyle Kulinski, Debbie Lusignan & Jimmy Dore etc
So, after some consideration of the positions expressed by the above people, I have decided that I am a “born free American woman” (just joking, I’m a man) and so I have every right to vote any damn way I please, and so, taking into consideration the above news people, podcasters, journalists, comedians etc… I have decided to think and act thusly:
I live in a Red District, in a Red County, in a Red State.
I do feel like punishing the Democratic Party for not having fought for us hard enough (giving us RomneyCare, Heritage Foundation Health Plan and not Medicare for ALL when we had control of all of the branches of Government during the first year or so of the Obama admin, and I can list other examples as well going back for 30 years)
The Democratic Party has given us very weak, watered down things and doesn’t really fight for us and takes every opportunity to slap “progressives” in the face and have even stated publicly that (Schumer saying he wanted to go after republicans and was willing to lose progressives … look it up) even stating publicly that progressives aren’t wanted.
Okay, message received loud and clear.
Then, the constant attacks against Jill Stein (who, by the way, I did not vote for but now I wish I had) and against Jill Stein voters (on a recent NorMan GoldMan podcast he actually stated that he thought the pro Jill Stein callers before the election and just after were Russian agents)
I’ve had it with this crap, I really have.
However, I live in a RED DISTRICT and a RED COUNTY in a RED STATE … so how should I vote when any time I vote for a Democratic Candidate I’ll just be outvoted unless it’s for a Senator or Governor, or maybe the President. It seems like we (in Missouri) can get a Democratic Senator (McCaskill) now and then and even a Governor now and then. But the State of Missouri hasn’t voted in sufficient numbers to give the electoral votes to a President in over a decade (probably more than that but I am going off memory right now)
So, this kind of frees me up, in a way.
I could vote full 100% Green Party and be done with it, and the STRATEGIC part of that is adding my 2 cents in to a party that needs to get numbers up to get on the ballot. So there’s that.
I’ll probably do SOME of that (vote Green in strategic instances)
I have to say, until further research is done, I want to combat the Republicans big time and vote for people like Claire McCaskill just to keep that Senatorial seat from getting into the hands of someone (a Republican) who, I guarantee, will be WORSE than McCaskill, and McCaskill is no liberal by my accounting. But this is the reality of the part of the country I live in.
Now, if I can primary McCaskill with a better Dem, I’ll vote for THAT Dem, I’m not aware of any serious challenger (on the democratic side of the aisle anyway) yet.
Having a Republican replace McCaskill is JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE. Please understand THAT.
So I may vote for McCaskill, strategically just to shut out Republicans for her Senatorial seat.
As for a President, it will depend on who’s running. If it’s someone like Tim Kaine, I will vote for Jill Stein. I can’t stomach Tim Kaine, sorry Democratic Party but THAT candidate is utter Bull puckey. Also, I will NOT vote for Kamala Harris, check her record in California and then get back to me to see what I mean. She’s a Fauxgressive.
I do not think Bernie Sanders should run again, instead we need people like Nina Turner, Tulsi Gabbard, Paula Swearingin, Elizabeth Warren (who I have SOME issues with btw but she is far more acceptable than Kaine or Harris)
But back to the Greens. I had not previously taken the Green party seriously but the Democratic Party needs a threat from its left flank. It’s the ONLY WAY that the Democratic Party will pay attention to US (the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party)
So, I will try to vote for the Green party for the most part but with very few exceptions … and I have my reasons.
