Freilanser is a political junkie that finally decided to start blogging. Not so much as to be a blogger or have a blog, rather as a kind of an ongoing, personal, political scrap-book.

It’s really just a political reference storage for anything political that I happen to find and sometimes (sparingly) a few not so political things. Something I am willing to share with the world. Why not? Come along for the ride!

===the above is the short version===below is some background===read at your peril!===

I’ve been a political junkie since about 1968 (when I was all of 5 years old) when events such as Martin Luther King Jr. was shot, when the (1969) moon landing happened (yeah I’m becoming “old” now) & then going up to the 1970s when the Oil embargo happened, Nixon resignation, President Ford bumping his head all the time & the 1976 bicentennial celebrations all year long. Elvis Presley died & my family was going through a personal disaster of epic proportion at that time. (not because the King of Rock and Roll died, it just happened at about that same time).

As life would have it (I probably should have been a journalist) but things went differently, and/or I chose differently. I became a working man for quite a long time, including having served in the US Military for a short time (honorably). I went crazy (in good and bad ways)  for a while doing all kinds of odd jobs across the USA from California to Missouri to Mississippi to Texas to Arizona, Nevada, Utah & New Mexico (with very short stays in Colorado & Oklahoma).

I have lived on 2 Native American Indian Reservations & I have traveled to Mexico, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Hawai’i & a few other places.

As I was growing up I would “catch” the news here and there, ultimately gravitating to crossfire & even to watching Rush Limbaugh (yes he had a tv show briefly) & C-SPAN and then I stumbled on (at the library in Salt Lake City) Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot by Al Franken (he wasn’t a Senator then, he hadn’t even been on Air America Radio yet either).

I’ve gone through different political phases … from “just let me kill ’em if they mess with America” to “Viva Che Guevara!” & reading Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead to being a Libertarian.

You may notice that my blog does have a “liberal bias” so how does a Ayn Rand reading libertarian type person go from that to “liberal”? Well the liberals had me at “stolen election” when George W. Bush was installed as President by the US Supreme Court. Plus you see, although I had voted for Reagan, he was literally the ONLY Republican I had EVER voted for… usually I voted in a mixture of libertarians, dems and greens, so maybe I was already to the left and was in denial?

For some reason that Supreme Court Decision really pissed me off and I wasn’t even a registered Democrat at the time!  “On December 12th, 2000, in a 5-4 decision, the U. S. Supreme Court put an end to the recounting of presidential votes in Florida, thus assuring that George W. Bush would win the election. This action by the Court’s majority, argues trial lawyer and bestselling author Bugliosi, was a “judicial coup d’‚tat” that stole the election from U.S. citizens and simply handed the presidency over to the Court’s guy, a conservative Republican like themselves.” http://www.amazon.com/The-Betrayal-America-Undermined-Constitution/dp/156025355X

I should have done this “blog thing” years ago (after all I was on-line for the 1st time in my life in 1995) but … follow the bouncing ball … “I was busy”. So, I’m doing it now!  I’ll Do it NOW! (my poor imitation of Bill O’Reilly – I’ll do it live!)

That’s enough jabber for now.
